Emerging landscapes: Anton Pann Band & Capisconne Electro Unity

This album is a result of improvising, composing and recording of two bands, Capisconne Electro Unity and Anton Pann Band, in Zagreb, during seven days, as part of the music project of Nomad Association. We started from the idea of letting two different profiled music bands, with different musical backgrounds, interests and experiences – one playing space jazz, the other traditional Romanian music– to combine their creative potentials to achieve an enriched musical experience.

The project was organized by Nomad Association for promoting of culture and arts (Zagreb) in partnership with Romanian Cultural Institute. It is also financially supported by Croatian Ministry of Culture, City of Zagreb and Kamgrad objekti d.o.o.

I have produced this CD combining Romanian traditional music and Croatian electro-jazz some long time ago, in 2012. A lot of work, little time in studio, not too much time for mixing, but musicians were great and done a beautiful job. I still like it, it is powerfull, compelx and somehow enigmatic, with the soundscapes that Capisconne put over the pentatonic scales, fitting just perfectly. Except jamming on Romanian traditional music, on this CD there are also 4 pieces that leader of Capisonne Electro Unity, Ivan Kapec, composed specially for this event, giving the whole album more depth and diversity. Good stuff…
